Support the 746 Sports Foundation – Empowering Youth, Building Community Through Sports & Recreation 

At the heart of Shafter lies a powerful story of community, connection, and opportunity. The 746 Sports Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Shafter Recreation and Park District, was founded in 2018 with one simple but profound goal: to ensure that every child, senior, and family in our community has access to sports and recreation—regardless of their financial situation.

🌱 Looking ahead, the 746 Sports Foundation is playing a vital role in raising funds for Shafter Recreation’s new Community Sports Complex—a project that will transform nearly 44 acres into a vibrant hub for health, activity, and togetherness. Construction of Phase One, covering the first 24 acres, is already underway. With your support, we will help bring the remaining phases to life and ensure this incredible space is completed for generations to enjoy.

The name 746 reflects our local pride—it’s a number long associated with Shafter, representing our deep connection to this town and our commitment to supporting every family who calls it home. 

We believe sports are more than just games—they’re pathways to growth, leadership, life lessons, and brighter futures. That’s why we provide scholarships, registration assistance, and sports equipment to ensure that no child is left on the sidelines due to financial hardship. 

But our impact goes beyond the field: 

🏃‍ We’ve sponsored Shafter Recreation cross country runners on their journey to nationals, helping local youth chase their dreams on a national stage. 

⚾ We proudly sponsored championship rings for the Shafter High School Baseball team, honoring the hard work and dedication of student-athletes who brought home a title. 

🎨 We funded the popular Park Takeovers—free, family-friendly events filled with games, arts and crafts, dancing, and more, made possible through a generous grant and designed to bring joy and connection to our neighborhoods. 

👟 We support recreational programs for seniors, promoting social connection, movement, and wellness to help older adults stay active and engaged in the community.  

Every dollar raised helps break down barriers to participation, opening the door for more youth, families, and seniors in Shafter to access the life-changing benefits of sports and recreation—fostering connection, confidence, and community growth.
