At Soar Solutions Youth Center, our Annual Feed the Deserved event is more than just a meal, it’s a family event. During the Thanksgiving season, many houseless community members face this holiday alone, and our youth step in to show them love, care, and human connection. By preparing and serving meals, distributing hygiene kits, and spending meaningful time with those in need, our youth learn that giving back is about more than service, it’s about creating a sense of belonging for those who may not feel as if they do. This experience teaches empathy, compassion, and the power of community.
Beyond serving, our youth gain hands-on leadership and decision-making skills. From planning the event to organizing meals and prioritizing distribution, they navigate real-world challenges that teach problem-solving, responsibility, and thoughtful action. Feed the Deserved combines service with skill-building, empowering our youth to make a tangible impact while becoming a “family” to those who need it most this holiday season.
It’s a celebration of gratitude, humanity, and the lessons of giving back that last a lifetime.
