Each day, thousands of people – people just like you – provide compassionate care to those in need. Our network of generous donors, volunteers and staff share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world. We roll up our sleeves and donate time, money and blood. We learn or teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises. OUR SERVICE DELIVERY

Each year on average, the Red Cross nationally:

• Responds to more than 60,000 disasters across the country.
• Trains more than 4.8 million people in first aid, water safety and other lifesaving skills.
• Collects more than 4.6 million blood donations and nearly 1 million platelet donations from more than 2.6 million donors.
• Provides nearly 471,000 services to military members, veterans and their families.
• Helps 230 million people outside the U.S. through American Red Cross disease prevention activities and disaster services. 

We are equally as proud of our local service delivery that could have not been accomplished without the support of our Kern County hardworking volunteers and generous donors. They make our work possible!

Emergencies never take a break. This rings true now more than ever. Even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospital patients still need lifesaving blood; neighbors still need food, shelter and care after disasters of all sizes; military families still need support; people still need to know how to perform critical skills like first aid and CPR; and vulnerable communities worldwide still need humanitarian assistance.
