La Vida Nueva

A nonprofit organization

La Vida Nueva was established in 1984 as the Kern County Chicano Commission on Alcoholism, a California Corporation. Our original mission was to serve the Spanish-speaking community by providing substance use disorder prevention and treatment programming in Spanish. Today, La Vida Nueva honors this legacy by providing culturally competent services to all, including programs in Spanish.

In 2024, we celebrated our 40th anniversary by changing our name to La Vida Nueva and opening a larger clinic location so we can help more people!

We offer group and individual counseling, case management services, family therapy and education groups, peer support services and activities, Grief & Loss classes, Anger Management classes, Domestic Violence classes, and Parenting classes. Our services are available in English and Spanish, and are free to our clients.
