The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

Each year through our fundraising events we have the pleasure of celebrating the lives of more than 2,000 Kern County residents who are cancer survivors.  The American Cancer Society helps save lives through cancer research, education and prevention programs and local services to patients, such as Road To Recovery, transportation for patients to treatment, Reach To Recovery, peer to peer counseling, Hotel Partners, free lodging to patients who travel for treatment.  Additionally, we provide access to patient navigators and services 24/7, 365 days per year through our National Cancer Information Center at 800-227-2345, as well as training and research materials on every kind of cancer through cancer.org.
