East Kern County Community Foundation is a nonprofit Community Development Corporation focused on building real infrastructure, economic stability, and long-term systems in underserved rural communities across East Kern County.

We operate in places that have been planned for, studied, and documented, but not funded or executed.

Our work closes that gap.

We lead projects that move communities from instability into measurable outcomes. That includes housing pathways, workforce development, financial systems, and access to essential services. Every program we build connects directly to long-term results such as homeownership, employment, and small business creation.

Our approach is structured and execution-driven.

• We align funding with real community needs already identified by local and county plans
• We build partnerships with financial institutions, healthcare providers, workforce agencies, and public entities
• We design programs that move people into asset-building outcomes, not temporary support
• We develop permanent infrastructure that allows systems to operate locally and consistently

Our flagship initiative, the BACK Program, connects direct financial support to structured savings and advancement pathways. Participants move toward homeownership, education, or business ownership with clear requirements, accountability, and partner integration.

We are also leading the development of the Boron Community Access Center, a permanent facility that will centralize services, coordinate partners, and provide a stable foundation for long-term community growth.

This is not charity-driven work.

This is systems development.

We build what has been missing, implement what has been planned, and deliver outcomes that last.
