About REACH
Royten’s Enrichment Academy Community Hope (REACH) is a grassroots nonprofit organization rooted in community, sustainability, and access. Founded in California City, REACH is dedicated to empowering underserved communities by increasing access to fresh, nutritious food, environmental resources, and educational opportunities that support long-term health and well-being.
At its core, REACH believes that everyone deserves the right to access fresh food, live in a healthy environment, and have the tools to thrive.
Our Mission
REACH exists to bridge gaps in food access, health equity, and environmental sustainability by providing community-driven programs that nourish both people and place.
What We Do
Through innovative and impactful programming, REACH serves as a hub for connection, education, and resource-sharing. Key initiatives include:
Food Navigators Program (FNP)
Providing nutrition education, budgeting support, cooking demonstrations, and access to free and low-cost fresh food options for families in need.
Cal City Farmers Market
A vibrant community space offering locally grown produce, supporting local farmers, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for connection and culture.
Community Gardens
Our regenerative organic gardens provide fresh food access seven days a week while teaching sustainable growing practices and strengthening community ties.
TreeVitalize: Sowing Community Roots Together
A long-term urban forestry initiative focused on planting trees, increasing shade equity, improving air quality, and fostering environmental stewardship through community engagement.
Our Impact
REACH is more than a nonprofit—it’s a movement grounded in service, love, and collaboration. Through partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and community members, we are:
Our Vision
We envision a future where all communities—regardless of income or location—have equitable access to fresh food, clean environments, and the resources needed to live healthy, empowered lives.
Our Leadership
REACH is led by Shauna Royten, President, Co-Founder, and Executive Director. With over 20 years of volunteer and community-based experience, Shauna brings passion, lived experience, and a deep commitment to uplifting her community through service, advocacy, and action.
Join Us
Whether through volunteering, partnerships, or community participation, there are many ways to be part of the REACH mission. Together, we are planting seeds of change—one person, one family, and one community at a time.
