Help Us Build Safe Access for Families at Casa Esperanza

Casa Esperanza is no longer an idea. It is a home.

Right now in Bakersfield, mothers and their children are living in a safe, structured environment where they are rebuilding their lives. They are working, going to school, healing, and preparing for something many of us take for granted: stability.

Since opening, Casa Esperanza has served 24 women and 47 children. Today, 6 women and 14 children call Casa Esperanza home. Eight of those children are under the age of five. Every woman in our program is employed, and every graduate has transitioned into permanent housing.

This is real progress. And growth brings new responsibility.

The Need This Year: Safe and Functional Parking

As our program has grown, so has the practical need for safe and accessible parking.

Mothers now have jobs. Families have vehicles. Volunteers and community partners visit regularly. What began as a simple residential setup now faces a clear constraint.

Our current parking area limits access and affects safety.

The parking project is not cosmetic. It is foundational.

It ensures:

  • Safe arrival and departure for families
  • Better access for volunteers and service providers
  • A stable environment where children can move about safely
  • Room for our program to operate with dignity and order

Removing this barrier strengthens everything else we do.

Our Goal

Our Give Big Kern goal is $100,000.

We begin with $25,000 already committed in matching funds. Every dollar given during the campaign is matched dollar for dollar until those funds are fully used.

That means your gift works twice as hard.

Giving opens April 7 and runs through May 5. The final day of giving is Tuesday, May 5.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

Your support directly advances the parking project and protects the stability we have worked so hard to build.

Every contribution helps move this project forward. Every gift strengthens safety, access, and capacity for the families who live here.

This is how progress becomes permanent.

Be Part of This Moment

Casa Esperanza exists because our community chooses to act.

Overcoming poverty for families requires long-term commitment. It requires removing practical barriers and creating stable pathways forward. When a mother succeeds, her children follow, and that impact carries forward for generations.

If you believe families deserve stability, dignity, and opportunity, this is your moment to help.
