Bakersfield Ivy Legacy Foundation

Since inception, Bakersfield Ivy Legacy Foundation seized opportunities to increase academic achievement, physical and mental health awareness, and environmental advocacy in Kern County.  

In collaboration with Kern High School District, Bakersfield City School District, CSU Bakersfield and Bakersfield College we connect students and their parents to community resources to; improve high school graduation rates; increase exposure to college and career pathways; instill a sense of community (including civic and environmental responsibility).

We want to see more families learn about stroke prevention, heart disease, and mental health services. Working with Dignity Health, the American Heart Association, and NAMI we have begun collecting and distributing information on these issues. We want to increase the number of families receiving this information and vary the activities to improve prevention awareness.
